DESCRIPTION:Luziana Liz was born to a family of sharecroppers in Louisiana in 1853. She became a mail order bride and a wealthy rancher in California. When her husband was killed in a gunfight and the state would not recognize her as owner of his estate, she traveled to Southern California and married local gunfighter, Lucky Sumtyms. After Lucky's untimely demise in 1901, she became a dance hall girl for a while to pay the bills. She won a deed to a wealthy mine located in Nevada during a suspicious card game. Eventually, she became owner of a large saloon and hotel.
