In 1881 silver was king here with 22 saloons,
mercantile stores, and sterling mines. Over $13 million in silver was
mined from the mottled hills that gave the town its
name. Walter Knott dedicated Calico Ghost Town to the memory of the heroic miners who lived and toiled here.
Today the town thrives... as it did in 1881.
